You’re using the API to publish a new post to a fan page and you get this error:

The status you are trying to publish is a duplicate of, or too similar to, on that we recently posted to Twitter.

First off, you must be thinking, “WHAT THE F@!#”, I’m developing on Facebook’s API, not Twitter’s. Well, little known fact is that Facebook developed their own official app to post status messages onto Twitter for you automatically. If you’re seeing this error, more than likely someone else who’s an admin on the page linked it to a Twitter account here : http://www.facebook.com/twitter/. Unlink the page and all should be well.
